Job Description:


Execuprint, located in Santa Clarita, CA, is searching for a talented Graphic Design Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity for students or recent graduates  to gain valuable experience in graphic design within the printing industry.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with teams to conceptualize and produce visually engaging graphics for various print projects.
  • Assist in creating and designing marketing materials, including, Point of Purchase Displays, In-Store Signage,  brochures, flyers, direct mail products, with a focus on print production.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovative design techniques to enhance our print materials and maintain their relevance. You'll have the chance to learn applications such as Artios Cad, Zund, Heidelberg Prinect, and EFI Fiery. 
  • Gain practical experience in color management, from color calibration to print color matching on different substrates.


Requirements:


  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from [Masters College] with a concentration in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.
  • Understand the basics of graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Bold and Creative having a desire to make a difference.

Job Description: Part Time Prepress Technician 


Introduction:


The primary function of the Prepress Department at Execuprint, Inc. is to receive, process and finalize client artwork for printing. This encompasses a wide range of specific functions that flow seamlessly together. The Prepress Technician is a highly focused, detail-oriented person who is able to organize and juggle multiple tasks at the same time. Due to the fast-paced dynamic of a production environment, occasional and unanticipated changes, distractions and delays are experienced requiring the utmost in patience, focus & coorperation with staff. The ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with all departments is also important.


Since the tasks of the Prepress Department are situated near the start of the project workflow process, a high level of accuracy in preparing jobs is required in order to ensure that projects flow successfully to subsequent departments and ultimately to the customer.


Below is a list of the knowledge base, functions and responsibilities required for a Prepress Technician at Execuprint, Inc.


Responsibilities:


  • Receive and analyze job orders, determining specific details and requirements.
  • Open and observe client files, analyzing size, color, quality, and finishing details.
  • Process client files using various software tools to create electronic, hard-copy, and mockup proofs.
  • Create die lines and apply variable data processing as required.
  • Setup and impose client files using Heidelberg software.
  • Output and organize color paper proofs on our digital press.
  • Build web2print template forms for customers.
  • Learn to operate the digital press for client jobs when the schedule demands, involving lifting, loading paper and plastics, color matching, calibration, and position registration.
  • Attend production meetings, understand and know all projects in the pipeline, be prepared to discuss them. Ensure your deparement is on schedule.
  • Handle occasional design requests from customers, demonstrating design aptitude.

Qualifications:

Required:


  • 3 to 4 years of experience in prepress, preferably in a commercial print environment with offset, digital, and wide format output devices.
  • Experience with Commercial Print, Wide Format Printing, Packaging, and Labels.
  • Understanding of Litho, Digital Printing, Wide Format, and Label Printing.
  • Proficiency in color management, including creating color profiles for all output devices.
  • Familiarity with post-press bindery processes such as die cutting, gluing, packaging, folding, perfect binding, saddle stitching, laminating, and wide format finishing.
  • Knowledge of workflow, web to print, and hot folders.

Preferred:


  • Knowledge in script writing and coding, with an interest in custom software development.
  • Knowlege with Artios Cad
  • G7 Process Experience.

Communication:


  • Excellent, clear, detailed, and friendly communication with customers, project managers, and production staff under pressure.
  • Careful reading and understanding of all communication from emails, Slack, and work orders.

Organization:


  • Maintain a clear and easy-to-understand digital filing system.
  • Adhere to company procedures and demonstrate flexibility to develop new procedures as needed.

As a Zund Operator at Execuprint, you will play a vital role in our production process. Your primary responsibility will be operating and maintaining our Zund cutting machine to deliver precise and accurate cuts for a wide range of materials. We are looking for someone with excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for ensuring top-notch quality in every project.


Responsibilities:


  • Set up and prepare the Zund cutting machine for production runs, ensuring all necessary tools, materials, and specifications are in place.
  • Program and load design files into the Zund software, adjusting cutting parameters as required.
  • Conduct material inspections and measurements to ensure accurate and precise cuts.
  • Operate the Zund machine, monitor production progress, and make any necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance and quality standards.
  • Keep an eye for detail and quality.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of the Zund machine, including blade changes, lubrication, and calibration, to ensure its smooth operation and longevity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues or machine errors that may arise during production.
  • Collaborate with the production team to prioritize workload, meet production targets, and ensure timely delivery of finished products.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Perform perfect binding, saddle stitching, die cutting, UV coating, laminating, shrink wrapping, grommeting, round cornering, drilling, counting, packing, kitting/fulfillment, and forklift operation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper data collection using computer systems.
